Fully restored 1963 Austin Mini 960cc

I have owned this car for 20 years, I bought a very good and rust free mini in 1998. The engine and gearbox were removed and the engine sent to Burton Power for a rebuild . The original engine was bored out to 960cc , Powermax pistons fitted, Kent 265 cam installed, engine balanced and tuftrided, Cylinder head polished and ported and fitted with over size unleaded valves. Rebuilt engine had twin Su’s installed with contactless high pressure fuel pump, LCB and RC 40 exhaust system. When all works had been completed the car was tuned on a Rolling road and power was 55 BHP at the wheels with Colway M+S tyres. Car is slightly faster that a 998 Cooper. The car retains its floor starter and wand gearbox. For its age car is remarkably rust free.

Similar attention was paid to the brakes and suspension with Cooper S 7.5 inch discs fitted to the front , Spax gas adjust shocks, the list of upgrades goes on and on and I have an enormous amount of paperwork with the car.

The car has just been recommissioned again with approx 5 k spent including a complete new interior from Newton Commercial, a full glass out respray .Wheels are Dunlop D100s with Yokos on the Front and falkens on the Back. I would estimate that well over 20k has been spent on the car over the years.

The car competed in the Monte Carlo challenge in 1998 and the Monte Carlo Historique Rally in 1999/2000/2001. Best result was 2nd in a class of 13 in 2000 beating 9 Cooper S’s. The car will be sold with copy decals for the rallies and souvenir clothing together with copies of photos of the car on the rallies.

Quick , great fun to drive and a very reliable and well sorted rally car.
